Bardo: Interval of Possibility, Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche's Teaching on Aspiration for Liberation in the Bardo, by Chokyi Wangchuk (In Chinese)
Our Price: $10.00
Members Price: $9.00

Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche gives an exceptionally clear and lucid explanation of Aspiration for the Bardo, graciously giving the necessary time and attention to its more obscure points. His commentary, however, is not merely a bare description of the sequence of events in the process of dying and death, but is underscored throughout with the purpose and urgency of aspiration. We are clearly instructed on what to practice and how to train ourselves at every point of opportunity, in this very life—whether in the waking state or the dream state—and even within the interval experience itself.

Bodhisambhara Treatise Commentary: Treatise on the Provisions for Enlightenment
Our Price: $19.50

The contents of this treatise are devoted to illuminating the most important motivations, principles, and practices essential to both lay and monastic practitioners of the Bodhisattva Path. Although these topics are treated elsewhere in Nagarjuna’s works, most notably in the Ratnavali, the Dasabhumika Vibhasa, and the Mahaprajnaparamita Upadesa, they are nowhere given such a closely-focused, potent, and essentially complete treatment as we find in this short treatise comprised of only 168 slokas.

Letter from a Friend
Letter from a Friend: A Bodhisattva's Advice to an Indian King on Right Living and the Buddhist Path
Our Price: $13.95

Arya Nagarjuna's Letter from a Friend (Suhrllekha) is a short discourse composed in the form of a royal-advisory letter presented by a spiritual teacher to the king of his country. It is unknown precisely to which of several similarly-titled Satavahana monarchs known as Satakarni that Arya Nagarjuna addressed the Letter. The king in question likely held sway in the southeast Indian city of Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh sometime during the first quarter of the first millennium CE. (The Satavahana Empire lasted at most some 450 years, from roughly 230 BCE to approximately 220 CE.)

Nagarjuna on the Six Perfections
Nagarjuna on the Six Perfections: An Arya Bodhisattva Explains the Heart of the Bodhisattva Path
Our Price: $27.95

The "six perfections" refers to the perfectly realized practice of giving, moral virtue, patience, vigor, meditative discipline, and world-transcending wisdom. The treatment of the six perfections constituting this text is a fourteen-chapter section from Arya Nagarjuna's long and detailed commentary on the 25,000 line Mahaprajnaparamita Sutra. Nagarjuna's treatment of the six perfections herein is so subtle and expansive that, at least in breadth and depth of analysis, it likely has no peer anywhere in the extant Buddhist canonical literature.

This is a translation of chapters 17-30 of Arya Nagarjuna's Exegesis on the Great Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, a free-standing section exclusively devoted to analyzing and explaining the bodhisattva's six perfections. Nagarjuna sets forth numerous stories, analogies, and analyses as he explores the deepest meaning of giving, moral virtue, patience, vigor, meditative discipline, and transcendent wisdom.

Nagarjuna's Guide to the Bodhisattva Path
Nagarjuna's Guide to the Bodhisattva Path
Our Price: $14.50

This is Nagarjuna's Bodhisambhara Shastra ("Treatise on the Provisions for Enlightenment"). It describes the essential prerequisites for the complete enlightenment of a buddha. It is accompanied here by an abridged version of its only commentary, originally written by the early Indian Bhikshu Vasitva. Abridgement, notes, and translation by Bhikshu Dharmamitra. Includes facing-page source text for the stanzas in both traditional and simplified scripts.

Arya Nagarjuna's Treatise on the Provisions for Enlightenment, together with its commentary by the Indian Bhikshu Vasitva was translated into Chinese by the South Indian Tripitaka Master Dharmagupta in or around 609 CE in China's Sui Dynasty Capital. The two works are presented in interwoven format in the six-fascicle edition preserved in the Taisho compilation of the Chinese Buddhist canon. Neither the treatise nor the commentary are extant in either Sanskrit or Tibetan. As an important work by Nagarjuna, it is a Dharma jewel well worth bringing forth for the benefit of Western Buddhists.  This work gathers together all of the beautiful essentials of Bodhisattva resolve, multi-lifetime vision, and altruistic practice into a relatively short, accessible, and comprehensive guide to the Bodhisattva Path.

Our Price: $13.50

Presented here is an English translation of a marvelous treatise by Vasubandhu Bodhisattva on the most crucial of all topics in Mahayana Buddhism, namely, the altruistic resolve on the part of the bodhisattva to gain the utmost, right, and perfect enlightenment of a buddha.  Although there are numerous examples of primary and secondary works in the Mahayana canon focusing on the resolve to become a buddha, the translator says he has yet found none which so completely and concisely distills into a short and potent work all of the metaphysical teachings and bodhisattva path practices most directly relevant to this most essential of bodhisattva vows.

By: Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche
Our Price: $19.95

Practiced by all four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, White Tara has been the main deity practice of many well-known Buddhist scholars and siddhas in both India and Tibet, foremost among whom where Nagarjuna and Atisha. Ultimately, she is the very nature of the dharmakaya, and her practice is a means for attaining liberation.
In this book Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche has given a complete and detailed guide to the practice of White Tara based on the commentary of the great ninteenth-century master, Jamgon Kongtrul the Great. Presenting the various stages of the practice in a warm and straightforward style, he makes this profound practice accessible through a wealth of detailed explanations, poignant anecdotes, and down-to-earth examples.
