Description
About the author
Venerable Yeshe Chodron brings the Buddhist faith into our daily lives, revealing the joy and peace that so many followers of the Buddha's teachings have found in their own spiritual awakenings.
When Yeshe Chodron was fourteen, her father died, plunging her into a suicidal depression. At seventeen, she left Australia for the Himalayas to find the meaning of life. After nine years of practice and study as a Buddhist, Sister Yeshe relates her spiritual journey. With tremendous warmth and humor, she writes about how we can all reach peace, happiness, and enlightenment through Tibetan Buddhism in our lives.
Everyday Enlightenment: How to be a Spiritual Warrior at the Kitchen Sink, Yeshe Chodron, HarperCollins, Paperback, 2006, 264 Pages, $18.95
Venerable Yeshe Chodron is a nun in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. She has been a Buddhist for 11 years since the age of 17 when she encountered Buddhism whilst travelling in India. She has trained with Tibetan Lamas in the Sakya Tradition and currently teaches Buddhism and meditation retreats in various centres in India and Australia. Sister Yeshe is committed to living the traditional contemplative life of a nun and may also be seen wandering the streets of Sydney and India with a Buddhist begging bowl!
