Monisha Ahmed is an independent researcher based in Mumbai, with a doctorate in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford. She has been visiting and writing about Ladakh since 1987, spending several months of every year there, researching its material culture. Clare Harris is Curator for Asia at the Pitt Rivers Museum and Lecturer and Fellow, School of Anthropology, Magdalen College, Oxford. She is currently the director of a major research project, “Tibet Visual History Online,” and continues to conduct research in the Himalaya
