Heinrich August Jaschke was a Moravian missionary an dlinguist, born in Germany. He was educateed at, and later taught at, Paedagogium at Niesky. In 1856 he went to Kyeland, Lahul province, India, near Tibet, to prepare for work among Chinese Mongols. His other works include a German-Tibetan and English-Tibetan lexicon.
