These are authentic Tibetan folk songs sung a cappella by incredibly powerful voices. They are so powerful, for example, that Jinzong Zhuoma had to be placed 34 feet away from the microphone during the recording! CD includes Tibetan Bonfire Dance music and Tibetan Reba Dance Music, both performed with commanding cymbal and drum rhythms. Song of Shangri-La also features the xianzi, a Tibetan bowed-string instrument whose succinct musical rhythms inspired an entire genre of music by the same name. This is gorgeous, evocative music that will truly stir the soul and touch the heart.
