A text. written by Jamgon Kongtrul. It consists practical instructions and theoretical explanations of the "Four Foundations," the basis of practice in the Kagyu tradition.
It is a commentary on the brief root text "Lhan cig skyes sbyor khrid" by the ninth Karmapa, Wangchuk Dorje. Wangchuk Dorje wrote also the liturgy text (ngondro sadhana), for which the "Torch of Certainty" is a kind of manual.
