Pace, cinematography, music, subject all come together in this production by Israeli, Nati Baretz.
The movie delves into the rebirth of a world renown Tibetan Buddhist Lama and takes the viewer into the death, rebirth and discovery of Geshe Lama Konchog. The movie focuses on Lama Tenzin Zopa's (Geshe Konchog's personal attendant) two year process of finding the child through divination and trek through the Tsum Valley near the Tibet/Nepal border to the recognition of the reincarnated master by HH the Dalai Lama and enthronement at Kopan Monastery.
The movie resonated with me for days. The film broke through the normal linear plot curve and left me convinced of deeper realities. The innocence of Zopa, the unpretentious and uncontrived script, the stunning scenery and understated music score all contributed to a unique film experience, one that can be relished more than once and certainly shared with friends...
