Description
Intermediate state between death and rebirth. The fourth of the six bardos
Detail explanation is found in Padmasambhava's Bardo Thodol, or Tibetan Book of the Dead. This text is recited to a dying person.
This text explains the appearances of deities during the first14 of the 49 days of the bardo:
During the first seven days the peaceful deities (52), and during the next seven days the wrathful deities (58) appear.
The five tathagathas, in union with their consorts, appear from the first to the fifth day.
