Description

The Yungdrung Bon Religious tradition is the oldest religion in Tibet. It was established by Buddha Tonpa Shenrap Miwo over 18,000 years ago in the ancient land of Zhang Zhung and later brought to Tibet. The primary focus of this tradition is to be released from the suffering of worldly existence and to attain the complete realization of wisdom and enlightenment. The practice of fumigation and offering of sacred smoke, known as sang, uses smoke created according to the instructions of an ancient ritual to purify contamination of the environment and its seen and unseen inhabitants. This contamination is caused by the negative activity of humanity and results in poverty, disease, famine, natural disasters, accidents, and many types of calamity and misfortune. The ritual of sacred smoke purifies this contamination and its negative consequences and creates a basis for good fortune and prosperity, and supports positive and harmonious circumstances for spiritual practice and development.
