Kyi
Yoghurt

Tibetan: kyi
Sanskrit:

Product Code: G01001

Description

"Happy."
Affixing this kyi as a suffix to somebody's name is one of the several ways of turning the name into a term of affection in Tibetan. The word ga, "joy"; the word ya, "good"; and the syllable lu are also used in this way. It appears that kyi is usually used with women's names. There also appear to be regional differences in the use of these nicknames.
