Description   The first of the Thirty-five Buddhas of Confession. The historical Buddha, Gautama Buddha, or Buddha Shakyamuni. Dressed in monk's robes (chos gos) and seated in vajrasana or dhyanasana. His right hand is in the bhumisparsha mudra, his left hand in dhyana mudra, his head is surrounded by a nimbus (dbu'i 'od 'khor) and his hair is in tight curls with a ushnisha.
