White Tara is also known as the Wish-fulfilling Wheel and Mother of All Buddhas. She is associated with the qualities of long life, healing, tranquility and compassion. White Tara has seven eyes, the additional ones being in the palms of her hands and on the soles of her feet, with a third eye on her forehead. This portrays her watchful eye on the world. Her right hand symbolizes the bestowal of blessings, and her left hand demonstrates protection. The blue lotus in her left hand, with blossoms in various stages of development, signifies the past, current and future Buddhas, showing that she is the essence of the Three Buddhas. Practitioners turn to White tara to increase their merit, wisdom, and good fortune, but most of all their longevity. White Tara is also called upon to give travelers protection in their mundane as well as spiritual journeys, and she assists her followers in getting past obstacles, especially those related to religious practice. The mantra for White Tara is Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha,
