A music producer, composer, arranger and vocalist, Imee Ooi is a well known personality in the Buddhist Music scene. She was born in a musical family in Malayasia. Her grandfather plays the piano, her grandmother taught her singing and her mother is a piano teacher. Quite naturally Imee learned music early. She attained a piano degree, taught piano and spontaneously composed and arranged music. In 1996, Imee had been inspired by the album �The Great Mercy Mantra,� which was very popular in Taiwan then, and she began to create a new genre of new-age music presenting the Sutras and Mantras. Her work has since received rave reviews and overwhelming responses. Imee has published more than 30 Buddhist albums by now, including the internationally acclaimed �The Chant of Metta� and �Om Mani Padme Hum.�
