This a a literary journal of sorts, containing some two hundred pithy essays, poems, praises, parables, puns, advisories, reminiscences, anecdotes, and accounts of spiritual life that fell into the author's lap over the mons and years as he sat on his meditation mat.
In the author's words, the writings in this book "add up to all I have left to say on the subject of spiritual practice that may be interesting, amusing, or worthwhile, beyond and in furtherance of whatever I have said in voice or on paper over the past forty years. In that sense, this work also is testamentary, as there is nothing more to follow, I expect."
Crumbs from a Parrots Beak: Plucked from my Meditation Mat, Walshul Dorje Nyima, Blazing Wisdom Publications, Paperback, 200 entries, $24.95
Washul Dorje Nyima (a.k.a. Tulku Sherdor) lives in an endless display of pure and impure phenomena, with many recurring patterns. He aspires to become just like the precious Lamas with whom he studied, knowing that admirable Lamas are much scarcer nowadays. Nothing less would perfectly fulfill their aspirations, you see.
