Description   This work, entitled The "Excellent Path of Omniscience", is a prayer text of the Preliminary Practice (Ngondro) of the Longchen Nyingthig Tradition of the Nyingmapa School of Tibetan Buddhism. It is an explanatory-recitation text in eleven parts. Part One is the recitation of the Common Preliminary Practice. Parts Two through Six are the Uncommon Preliminary Practice. Parts Seven through Nine are for the Actual Practice and Parts 10 and Eleven are for the Concluding Practice. The main emphasis of this prayer text is on the Preliminary Practice, but it contains a most profound method for the Actual Practice according to the Vajrayana in the form of Guru Yoga. Longchen Nyingthig is the Tradition of the Rediscovered Dharma Tradition of Kunkhyen Jigme Lingpa ( 1729 - 1798 c.e ) compiled by his chief disciple and Doctrine Holder of the Longchen Nyingthig Tradition, the first Dodrupchen, Jigme Thrinle Odzer ( 1745 - 1821 c.e ) This Ngondro, or Preliminary Practice, accompanies the P'howa practice from the same tradition.
