STEPHAN HILLYER LEVITT (1943�2020) was an Indologist who earned his Doctorate in Oriental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He taught as Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Denver, worked as the Research Assistant for the late W. Norman Brown, and cataloged Indie and Greater Indie manuscripts in the Library and University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania. He also tutored both English and Sanskrit, and cataloged Indie and Greater Indie manuscripts for the Center for Judaic Studies, University of Pennsylvania and for the Burke Library, Union Theological Seminary. He published over 45 articles on Indological topics.
