Bradley Clemmons has been a student and practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism since 1972. He has worked for Dharma Publishing, a non-profit Buddhist publisher, since 1974. Due to the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959, a large percentage of the Tibetan sacred texts have been destroyed, making it difficult for the monasteries to continue the teachings. In escaping from Tibet to India, many Tibetans endangered their lives to bring sacred texts with them on their trek across the Himalayas. The Yeshe De Project was established in 1988 as a joint venture between Dharma Publishing and the Tibetan Nyingmapa Meditation Center to reprint these rare texts in Tibetan and return them to the monasteries so that the teachings could continue.
Mr. Clemmons shares a loving partnership with Jane, his wife of nearly 30 years. He is also caretaker for many of the animals at the Tibetan Buddhist community where he lives. Swans, ducks, peacocks, exotic pheasants, cranes, doves and Great Pyrenees guardian dogs are among the animals under his care.
