How do we prepare for death? What happens to us when we die? What is our experience after death? These are the questions addressed by Bardor Tulku Rinpoche in his two talks given at the Hartford KTC in 1999. Rinpoche bases his talks on a text by the great Terton, Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa titled A Supplement to the Profound Meaning of Liberation Through Hearing, which is part of the cycle of teachings called Dispelling All Obstacles, the Accomplishment of the Heart of the Guru. Rinpoche also includes comments on the Bardos made by Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava). Both talks include lively question-and-answer sessions.

Bardor Tulku Rinpoche was born in 1950 in Kham (East Tibet) and was recognized by His Holiness the Sixteenth Gyalwa Karmapa as a tulku, or reincarnated teacher, while still quite young. Bardor Rinpoche traveled with the Karmapa on his world tours in 1974 and 1976, and then remained in the United States to help guide the construction of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra (KTD), His Holiness Karmapa's new monastery in America. Since then he has lived and taught at KTD and toured throughout North America to teach and spread the dharma. He serves as the spiritual director of Hartford Karma Thegsum Choling (KTC) and other affiliated Tibetan Buddhist dharma centers in North America. He is also the founder of Kunzang Palchen Ling in Red Hook, New York, a center dedicated to promoting the practices and teachings of the Karma Kagyu lineage and supporting the redevelopment or Raktrul Monastery in Tibet.
