My hope of this book is to guide you to finding a type of meditation that will "bring you home" whenever you choose - to a space of calm clarity in which you will find peace and restore your energy or from which you can effectively engage in the world. Yet above all, I hope this book can serve as a "bridge" to enlightenment, whether you are following a Buddhist path or any other authentic spiritual tradition.
An Authentic Guide to Meditation, Shar Khentrul Jamphel Lodro, Dzokden Publications, Paperback, 102 pages, $14.95
Shar Khentrul Rinpoche Jamphel Lodro is the founder and director of Dzokden. Rinpoche is the author of more than 20 Buddhist books including Unveiling Your Sacred Truth, The Great Middle Way: Clarifying the Jonang View of Other-Emptiness, and A Happier Life.
Rinpoche spent the first 20 years of his life herding yaks and chanting mantras on the plateaus of Tibet. Inspired by the Bodhisattvas, he left his family to study under 25 masters in monasteries of all the Tibetan Buddhist traditions. Due to his non-sectarian approach, he earned himself the title of Rime (unbiased) master and was identified as the reincarnation of the famous Kalachakra Master Ngawang Chozin Gyatso. Rinpoche focuses on teaching Kalachakra, which contains profound methods to harmonize our external environment with the inner world of body and mind, ultimately bringing about the golden age of peace and harmony (Dzokden).
