A music producer, composer, arranger and vocalist, Imee Ooi is a well known personality in the Buddhist Music scene. She was born in a musical family in Malayasia. Her grandfather plays the piano, her grandmother taught her singing and her mother is a piano teacher. Quite naturally Imee learned music early. She attained a piano degree, taught piano and spontaneously composed and arranged music. In 1996, Imee had been inspired by the album �The Great Mercy Mantra,� which was very popular in Taiwan then, and she began to create a new genre of new-age music presenting the Sutras and Mantras.
