Description

From the Preface:

Master Buddhabhadra, born in the Shakya family, was a descendant of Amritodana in the Kapilavastu district of Nepal. He travelled to China in the early fifth century and worked tirelessly with his Chinese and non-Chinese associates such as Fa-xian and Master Kumarajiva in translating Sanskrit Buddhist scriptures in Chinese language. He was successful in establishing a firm foundation of important Buddhist traditions of China, namely Pureland, Ch'an and Huayan Buddhism. It won't be, perhaps, an exaggeration to say that those who don't know Master Buddhabhadra will miss a glorious and significant component of Chinese Buddhism.
