Description   This powerful program of sacred overtone chants was designed with several goals in mind: to create sacred space and vibrational shifts like a sonic prayer wheel, to help the listener learn authentic mantras and to simply provide enjoyment. The sole voice on the recording is that of Lama Tashi, the Principal Chant Master ( or "Umzey") at the Dalai Lama's Drepung Monastery in India. Most of these chants start with the ringing of a "ting-sha" (or Tibetan bell). Following this is a homage, where the deity is invoked and honored, and then the mantra themselves, whose purposes vary. Despite the fact that Lama Tashi chants solo, mixing techniques were utilized to give the mantras a choir-like effect.
