This Text contains the verses from the Udana independent of the prose text to which they are normally appended. A basis for devotion, reflection and study both for newcomers to Buddhism and those more familiar with the Buddha's noble path to Awakening.

The Udanas are those verses which the Buddha breathed out under tremendous force of inspiration, either in a certain situation with his disciples, or quite spontaneously on his own at some very important or critical stage of his spiritual career. These are all called udanas.

They are part of the Therevada early transmisions of the Pali cannon from the original teaching by the Buddha.
