On this DVD is a 75 minute talk by Lama Kathy Wesley in which she both introduces the Amitabha Sadhana and provides instructions for practicing the sadhana. This disk concludes with a complete Amitabha Sadhana practice session. The audio recording of the practice session plays while the words of the sadhana scroll by on full screen so that viewers can use the recorded session as a guide for their own practice. In the Karma Kagyu tradition, the Amitabha Sadhana is practiced in conjuntion with the Chenrezik Sadhana. This DVD and a similar DVD of Lama Kathy Wesley introducing and instructing on the Chenrezik Sadhana form an ideal pair for learning both practices. In addition, for those desiring a more extensive teaching on the Chenrezik practice, foru additional talks (over seven hours of video on two DVD’s) are available. In these four talks Lama Kathy elaborates at length on the Chenrezik practice and places it in the larger context of quiet sitting meditation and compassion practice.
